Wrap a thin strip of paper around the widest part of your finger (don't forget the knuckle). Mark where the paper overlaps and measure that length against a millimeter ruler. We provide a downloadable chart that converts these millimeters into standard US sizes.
Borrowing a Secret Ring
If you are planning a surprise proposal, borrow a ring they already wear on their ring finger. Trace the *inside* circumference onto a piece of paper or bring it to any jeweler for a quick measure. Ensure the ring you borrow is for the correct hand, as the dominant hand is usually slightly larger.
Environmental Factors
Fingers change size based on temperature, time of day, and hydration levels. We recommend measuring in the late afternoon when your hands are warm. Avoid measuring after intense exercise or in cold weather, which can cause fingers to shrink by half a size.
